Paul Zelizer, MA, graduated in 1991 from an innovative Counseling Psychology program at Lesley University. It included a concentration on awareness based change strategies long before mindfulness was a buzzword and launched a daily meditation practice that Paul continues to cherish. Since then, he has led programs for over 30,000 leaders and their team members in a variety of settings. He launched his coaching business in 2008, becoming a global pioneer in supporting social entrepreneurs as well as one of New Mexico’s premier business coaches.
In 2017, Paul founded Awarepreneurs to assist others in learning from experienced impact leaders. Today he is best known as the host of the Awarepreneurs podcast, one of the world’s longest running social entrepreneur podcasts. He has interviewed 300+ founders of companies doing impactful work at scale to disseminate their wisdom. Also through Awarepreneurs, he launched the Impact Podcast Accelerator to help impact leaders learn to leverage podcasting for accelerated growth.
Paul also has extensive experience with organizational consulting. In 2012 he helped Wisdom 2.0, a one-of-kind event that explores how we can live with deeper meaning in our technology-rich age, develop growth strategies that almost tripled attendance – from 650 to 1800 – in 15 months. In 2023, he became a consultant with New Mexico Angels, the premier early-stage investment network in the state, to develop growth strategies. And he is also the Business Coach for both the 2023 and 2024 cohorts of the SBA THRIVE Accelerator in Albuquerque. The program happens in 68 cities around the US and helps established businesses that have hit a plateau find pathways to innovate and expand.
When not coaching or meditating, Paul enjoys running ultra races, organic gardening, camping in the mountains and time with loved ones. The 3 guiding principles of Paul’s life are positive impact, meaningful relationships and adventure.
