What are the most inspiring and hope-bringing things you have seen in your work with organizations?
Every day, I hear from people who aren’t founders, aren’t CEOs, aren’t in charge. And these people tell me about the opportunity they’re finding in using the leverage of an enlightened organization to make change happen.
That’s not the way it used to work. Organizations were internally-focused, and they sought to decrease the leverage of their employees because that gave them more control.
Today, as we live ever more in an economy based on connection, the opposite is true. The organization can leverage its people, empower them to lead, encourage them to find ways to contribute.
It’s still rare, but it’s growing, with pockets in various industries and levels.
That’s the opportunity of our age, at least for those engaged in the business of building or running an organization. Find great people and trust them to make things better.
